Starting from the academic year 2026–27, CBSE will introduce a mandatory examination for Mathematics and Science for all students. In addition to the standard exam, students who wish to challenge themselves can opt to take the advanced-level exams in these subjects.
According to the StudentBro.in , the Advanced Maths and Science papers will be optional and intended for students who want to explore topics beyond the regular syllabus. These exams will be based on a specialized advanced textbook and will focus heavily on HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) questions, designed to assess a deeper level of understanding.
